About the CGPA Calculator

CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is how most Indian universities and colleges summarise your academic performance, but calculating it by hand across many subjects and credits is tedious and error-prone. This free CGPA calculator does it instantly: add each subject with its grade point and credit hours, and it computes your weighted CGPA automatically.

The tool uses the standard credit-weighted formula, where each subject’s grade point is multiplied by its credits, summed, and divided by total credits — the same method universities use. It also converts your CGPA to an approximate percentage using the widely used multiplier, which is handy for job applications and forms that ask for a percentage.

Everything runs in your browser with no sign-up, so your marks stay private. Whether you are tracking your semester performance, planning the grades you need, or filling out an application, this calculator gives you fast, accurate results you can copy or share.

Tips to get the most out of it

  • Enter grade points on your university scale (usually 0–10).
  • Credits are usually listed in your syllabus or marksheet.
  • The percentage conversion uses CGPA × 9.5, a common approximation — check your university’s official formula.
  • Use it to plan the grades you need to reach a target CGPA.

A widely used approximation is percentage = CGPA × 9.5. This tool shows that automatically, but always confirm your university’s official conversion formula, as it can vary.

It works with whatever scale you enter, but most Indian universities use a 10-point scale. Just enter your grade points as they appear on your marksheet.
